A church symbolizes many different things to many different people: Community, Family, Rest, Time Together, God.
Sacred time, a break, a respite at the end of a busy week. Time away from the worries of the “real” world. Or maybe a homecoming? Homecoming, after a week of travels on the outside. A pause, a road side rest stop, a place to recover and recharge from the human experience.
Sanctuary.
Peace.
It’s just a building, but it’s a structure that catalyzes our connection to a Higher Power. To some, this comes from the gathering of like minded individuals, their fellow man. To others, the building is just a symbol, their true communion is with the peace of the outdoors in Nature.
